From MYR Airport - Head North On Hwy 17 And Proceed Approx 35 Miles. Turn Right at The Ocean Isle Beach Exit just a few miles North of The SC Border. At Ocean Isle Beach Cross The Bridge To The Oceanfront. Turn left and go 1 1/2 Miles To The Hotel. From the South Hwy. 179- Leave Hwy. 17 at the first traffic light north of Little River, SC. Exit Hwy. 179 at Ocean Isle Beach and cross the bridge and drive to the oceanfront. Turn left and drive one and a half miles to The Winds Inn and Suites.

The Winds has numerous free, onsite activities for children and The Museum of Coastal Carolina (2 miles) offers a fantastic childrens program for a nominal fee. The Winds is located on the coast of North Carolina - known as the graveyard of the Atlantic-for it's hundreds of ship wrecks. Diving excursions are offered by nearby companies. Snorkeling equipment can be purchased nearby. Surf Fishing is available right on the beach in front of The Winds. There is a Fishing Pier a short walk from The Winds. Deep Sea fishing is available from a number of nearby companies on the island and nearby areas. The Town of Ocean Isle operates two free tennis courts for guest and residents of the island. They are locatedwithin walking and bicycling distance of The Winds (1 & 1/2 miles). Beach volley ball is just one of the many free activities available at The Winds including Shuffleboard, Beach Bocci, Croquette and others.
